A personal best for Hoppy 52cmm (4lbs) Cracker

 

Andrew Cartwright Sent us this picture of a 51cm fish caught on the River Severn on 01/11/03 on a size 18 dry, in very cold weather, He sent a scale + pic to Mr Ross Gardener (grayling society ) who said the fish is 7 years old & with the length + girth would weigh 3.5 lbs ( 6 onces more than the welsh record, but he was on his own)

This fish is over 4lbs (59cm long 're edited') taken on the fly by Steve Cullen who caught it on part of the tweed system in December 2003. Danny Hooked into the other good grayling at exactly the same time some caught about Ten meters upstream. Both fish returned un harmed. That fish weighed in at about 2.5lbs

TWICE!! Sam McCully from Carluke caught a 3 pound 8 oz Grayling on the Annandale. Thursday, 30th December, 1999. A few minutes later he caught one of 3 pounds 10 oz!!
